Parish Resilience & Emergency Plan

In times of crisis it is vitally important that communities must stand together. Community Resilience enables communities to take control, not only to prevent but also to deal with emergency situations as and when they occur.

The Parish Council is doing its part by preparing a resilience plan which will describe what we will do as a community during emergencies.

It will identify the risks we may have to deal with and the probable impact they may cause such as severe and prolonged flooding.

It will also include details of the responses we expect from others such as the emergency services, utilities or County Council as well as those responses we can provide from within the Parish itself.

The Parish Council will take into account the skills that have been acquired by both councillors and staff.

‘Priority Service Registers’ (PSR) are available with all the Utility companies – Gas, Electric, Water as well as Banks, and possibly telecommunications companies. Vulnerable people can have themselves added to these lists. Unfortunately not all companies are signed up to data sharing so people have to register with each provider individually. The PSR’s will then attempt to meet people special needs e.g. needed emergency water delivered during an outage lasting longer than 12 hours, providing heaters, offering alternative ways of communication.
