TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 SECTION 78
I am writing to let you know that an appeal was made to the Secretary of State against Tandridge District Council in respect of the above. The appeal follows the Council's refusal to grant planning permission.
The appeal will be determined on the basis of inquiry. The procedure to be followed is set out in the Town and Country Planning Appeals (Determination by Inspectors) (Inquiry Procedure) (England) Rules 2000, as amended.
For any group or organisation who wish to take an active part in the Inquiry, the opportunity is available to apply for what is known as Rule 6 status. Although unusual, there is also scope for interested individuals to take part on the same basis. Rule 6 status means that you would be able to present your evidence on a formal basis and cross examine the evidence of others. You can find guidance at the following link:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/apply-for-rule-6-status-on-a-planning-appeal-or-called- in-application
Arrangements for the Inquiry are currently being finalised by the Planning Inspectorate. These will include a pre-inquiry conference call with the lead parties to deal with procedural and administrative matters, including how the evidence will be heard. As a Rule 6 party, it is anticipated that you would also be a part of that process. If, having read the above guidance, you wish to apply for Rule 6 status and/or have any related questions, you should contact the Planning Inspectorate immediately. If you are interested but are unable to access the guidance electronically, again, you should contact the Planning Inspectorate who will try and assist.
If, having read the above guidance, you wish to apply for Rule 6 status it is essential that you contact the Planning Inspectorate immediately.
We have forwarded all the representations made to us on the application to the Planning Inspectorate and the appellant. These will be considered by the Inspector when determining the appeal.
If you wish to make comments, or modify/withdraw your previous representation, you can do so online at https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk. If you do not have access to the internet, you can send your comments to Planning Inspectorate, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN or telephone 03034445000.
All representations must be received by 31 January 2025. Any representations submitted after the deadline will not usually be considered and will be returned. The Planning Inspectorate does not acknowledge representations. All representations must quote the appeal reference.
Please note that any representations you submit to the Planning Inspectorate will be copied to the appellant and this local planning authority and will be considered by the Inspector when determining the appeal.
The appeal documents are available for inspection at www.tandridge.gov.uk.
You can get a copy of one of the Planning Inspectorate’s “Guide to taking part in planning appeals” booklets free of charge from GOV.UK at https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/taking-part-in-a- planning-listed-building-or-enforcement-appeal or from us.
When made, the decision will be published online at https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk. Yours faithfully,
David Ford Chief Executive

Burstow Parish Council are looking into the feasibility of setting up a ‘Men’s Shed’ in the village. To assist with this process, we are scoping the likely interest and support this project will generate.
Men’s Shed is a national scheme that aims to promote happiness and health in men through connection, conversation and creativity. Men’s Sheds encourage people to come together to make, repair and repurpose, supporting projects in the local community, thereby improving wellbeing, reducing loneliness and combatting social isolation.
To assist in gauging interest in the project there will be two drop in sessions at the Centenary Hall on Friday 10th January between 10am - midday and on Friday 17th January 2025 between 4pm - 6pm where you can come and find out more about the project.
If you are unable to attend but would like to find out more or perhaps be interested in helping deliver the scheme, you can contact Parish Councillor Andrew Gilbert who is leading the project by emailing him, Andrew.Gilbert@Burstowparishcouncil.gov.uk

The latest Burstow Parish Council project starts to come to fruition next week, with a rejuvenation of the playground in the Broadbridge Lane playing field.
The planning has been going on for a number of months, working with contractors on the design and build of the scheme as well as applying for grants to help pay for the equipment.
The play area will be airport themed with various items of equipment for children to play on and help fuel their imagination in their play, including an ‘aircraft’ to climb in.
The kit will be located on a safety surface which itself is airport themed and will be slightly raised from ground level to hopefully ensure that the area is useable during wet periods, as well as being fenced. Seating is also included in the scheme.
Below is a copy of the plan illustrating the equipment that will be installed.

Games were played, refreshments enjoyed and laughter all the way!

The new flower troughs in Wheelers Lane are looking for volunteers to give them some tender love and care! Installed by SCC as part of the safety works, we are now in a position to manage them by inviting people/families/groups interested in planting them up and maintaining them, initially with a years agreement.
If you are interested please message Jeanie, the clerk for Burstow Parish Council by email at clerk@burstowparishcouncil.gov.uk

Starting on 21.10.24 fancy a meet up with your friends somewhere warm? From 9am - 1pm weekdays through the winter the meeting room in the Centenary Hall will be open for anyone to pop in and socialise.

In an effort to help a minority of residents to remember to pick up their dog’s poo, the Parish Council have attached poo bag dispensers to a large number of poo bins in the village. The bins themselves are managed by Tandridge District Council and regularly emptied.
Each has a little note attached asking to let the clerk know by email if the dispenser runs out of bags so they can be replenished.
If the initial trial is a success, the project will be expanded to the remaining bins in the village.
Please make every effort to pick up your dog’s mess, it’s very unpleasant, particularly for children if they get it on them.

Warren Clarke Golfing Dreams charity, based at Horne Golf Club, is seeking to build a centre to help young disabled and disadvantaged young people through playing golf.
There is both a Crowdfunding scheme that can be donated to as well as a collection of unused foreign currency. Please see the links if you can assist in any way.
